Residential Institutions for Children
Residential institutions for children and youth provide a family-style living environment for those who are not with their family for a variety of reasons. Emergency shelter, short and long term care, and gender-based programming are available. Ages generally range from 10 to 17 for eligibility, yet some exceptions can be made. Many of these agencies provide additional services such as family counseling, independent living for young adults, substance abuse treatment, adoption, etc.
