June Prayer Theme:
"Holy Eucharist, Sacrament Of the Word Made Flesh"

As we celebrate the month of June, with its usual cycle of graduations, weddings, anniversaries, and summer vacations, it is good for us to reflect on the mystery and gift of God's Word. Deep in our hearts there is a hunger that can never be satisfied by ordinary human words. We need to cultivate a spirit of silence so as to better hear God's Word and allow it to touch and change our hearts.

In this year dedicated to the Holy Eucharist, let us reflect on the mystery of the Word made flesh, particularly how the first half of the liturgy prepares us to enter into the drama of the Eucharistic Prayer and reception of the Holy Eucharist.
Heavenly Father, we give You thanks for the mystery of Your love expressed in the Word made flesh. As Your Son chose to dwell in the womb of the Virgin Mother, may His Word take root in our minds and hearts. According to Your will, may the power of His Word heal us of any sin or selfishness, drive out all pride and fear, and make us humble but ardent prophets of His love in all that we say and do. Through our adoration of the Word made flesh, may we grow in love for You and one another, working together for the justice and peace of Your Kingdom, as You live and reign Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, one God forever and ever. Amen.
