May Prayer Theme:
"Eucharist, Sacrament of Christ's Abiding Presence"
Year of the Eucharist

Sunday, May 29, we will be celebrating the feast of Corpus Christi, the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ, a feast on which the Church throughout the world celebrates and affirms our faith in Christ's real presence through special processions and Eucharistic services.
Building on Christ's teaching and promise in the Scriptures and the liturgy of the Church throughout the centuries, the Church professes that the consecrated species of bread and wine are transformed into the Body and Blood of the Risen Lord, true nourishment for our pilgrimage of faith and an abiding sacramental presence for our adoration and contemplation.
Proclaiming Christ's “real presence” to us in and through this sacrament of the altar challenges us to be “really present” in response—through a life of prayer and through actions of justice and charity.
God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, in the Sacrament of your Son’s Body and Blood, you continue to nourish, heal, and unite your Church throughout the world. Through our adoration of Christ's presence in this sacrament, may we grow in love for His Body, the Church, and find new energy to labor for the salvation of all people. We ask this through the same Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
