September Prayer Theme:
Behold the Eucharist!
Contemplating God's Saving Work

As we celebrate Labor Day and begin the normal cycle of autumn activities during this month of September, let us pray for the grace to see our human labor and our resting within the perspective of God's greatest work—the Death-Resurrection of Jesus Christ which we celebrate in every Holy Eucharist.  In a special way, let us renew our commitment to enjoy Sabbath rest.  Through our contemplation of the Lord in the Most Blessed Sacrament and through our active participation in the celebration of the Holy Eucharist, may we know the consoling and renewing grace, peace and strength that only God can give.
Loving Father, we rejoice with you in the wonder and beauty of all that you have made.  We praise and thank you for making us in your own image and likeness and restoring your divine image through the Incarnation, Death and Resurrection of Christ your Son.  Deepen our hunger for the Bread of Life and that rest which you alone can give.  Through our contemplation of Christ's presence in the Holy Eucharist, may we grow in love for His Body, the Church, and find new energy to share in the work of evangelization and the renewal of all society.  We ask all this through the same Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God forever and ever. Amen.
