There are 80 Catholic elementary and 23 Catholic high schools within the Archdiocese of Detroit for the academic year 2009-2010.

Elementary Students IOWA Achievement Scores (2007-2008)
  • 3rd & 5th graders in Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Detroit scored in the 71st percentile.
  • 7th graders scored in the 74th percentile.

ACT College Readiness Test Scores (2009)
 
2,540 Catholic high school students in the Archdiocese of Detroit took the ACT College Readiness Test in 2008-2009.  Average ACT scores for these students were compared to the average ACT scores for all students who took the test in the State of Michigan and those who took the test nationwide:
  • English
    • 5.5 points higher than all Michigan students.
    • 3.5 points higher than all students nationwide.
     
  • Mathematics
    • 3.2 points higher than all Michigan students.
    • 1.8 points higher than all students nationwide.
     
  • Reading
    • 4.3 points higher than all Michigan students.
    • 2.5 points higher than all students nationwide.
     
  • Science
    • 2.8 points higher than all Michigan students.
    • 2 points higher than all students nationwide.
The average ACT score for the Class of 2009 in the Archdiocese of Detroit is 23.6, which compares to 19.6 as the average ACT score in the State of Michigan and 21.1 as the average ACT score nationwide.
 

Achievements of Catholic High School Graduates
  • 98% of the Class of 2008 from Catholic schools in the Archdiocese went on to attend a college or university.
     
  • Over $100 million in scholarships were received by the graduating Class of 2009.
     
  • Among our 2009 Catholic high school graduates, 40 were chosen as National Merit finalists based on academic test scores, and participation and leadership in school and community activities.
     
  • Among the Class of 2009 Catholic high school seniors, 43 students from thirteen schools have been chosen as National Merit semi-finalists and are eligible to become finalists.

 Tuition Averages for Catholic Schools (2008-2009)
  • High school tuition average in the Archdiocese of Detroit was $7399 (based upon data from 18 high schools; omitting Academy of the Sacred Heart)
     
  • Elementary school tuition average in the Archdiocese of Detroit was $3370 (based on 83 schools which provided tuition information)
