| While many local families in need receive gifts of clothing or toys from a parish giving tree, many still need help to meet more direct financial needs, such as food, prescription costs, rent and utilities. Your generosity is deeply appreciated.
- 34 year old mother, pregnant with her fourth child has been diagnosed with cancer. She has lost her job and her healthcare. Family picks up food twice a month from the food pantry and is receiving help with gas cards and financial help from the parish.
- Husband had surgery 3 days ago. His wife has heart problems and is unable to work. They are surviving on donations from neighbors and food from the parish
- Parents are very ill. They are in need of assistance to help cover the cost of their many medications.
- Father of four children currently does not have beds, a table, or chairs. The house is almost empty.
- Active parishioner has suffered from Lupus for several years. She is on disability but the medication costs more than the money she receives. She is also behind on her utility bills.
- Single mother of 5 children under 9 years old has moved from one rental to another due to foreclosure. She is now working in a low paying job but needs help with car repair bills, clothing for winter, a mattress for a bunk bed and school supplies for the children.
- Mother of eight children who was homeless for a period of time is still working with Social Services to regain custody of all of her children. She needs a job, help with rent, transportation, and utility bills. This Christmas will be very glum for her family.
- Mother of three children has been abandoned by her abusive husband. Her infant child suffers from frequent seizures. Medical expenses have drained all available finances and ability to care for the children. A helping father died.
- Grandmother lost her husband recently. Both had struggled with poverty for years. She is raising two grandchildren whose parents are both deceased. She tries to work but is hampered by an on-going illness, making a permanent job unlikely.
- A veteran and victim of traumatic shock from military action was diagnosed unemployable because of his trauma. He has suffered a stroke and is physically and emotionally debilitated. He survives on a very small pension and lives in near to slum living conditions.
- Mother struggles with poverty after being abandoned by her husband many years ago, and was left with several children to raise. She has managed to remain close to her church, her Senior Center and her children. She is now helping raise grandchildren.
- A mother lost her job and now she and her son are presently living with a friend. She has overcome much adversity and is a hard working and caring parent. She is currently working in a low paying job and is saving to rent her own apartment.
- A single parent, father of three recently lost his job and his home. They are living with his parents. He looks for work each day and hopes to some day live alone with his children again.
- Mother and her two daughters are victims of a domestic violence situation. They were forced to move from their home and are now living with a relative. She is struggling financially to meet daily living expenses and is also trying to save for a security deposit so she and the girls can live alone.
- Single mom lost her job because her work can be done more cheaply in China. She is doing her best to raise her daughter but they are having a difficult time.
- Single mother of 4 children under the age of 9 is trying to complete her education. She recently lost her job due to a reduction in the work force. She has had to move from the house she was renting due to foreclosure. She qualifies for section 8 housing and receives food stamps. She has asked for help with a bill that she is behind on
- Mother is struggling to raise her 2 sons. She is unable to find work. Child support is minimal as the son's father has just lost his job. One son broke his arm, which required surgery and physical therapy. They do not have health insurance.
- Couple has 13 children; 8 of the children still live at home. During the summer the father was seriously injured and has not been able to return to work. Help with food and Christmas gifts is needed.
- A disabled woman is in need of kitchen appliances. Because of health issues she is without financial support. She would like to be able to send a gift to her ailing mother who lives in another state.
- A 60 year old single mother/grandmother is disabled. She has medical expenses and a 25 year old car in need of multiple repairs. Repairing her car will give her basic transportation for medical appointments and volunteering.
- Young man is faced with many challenges in his life. His mother recently passed away suddenly. He moved from another state to live with relatives. He is in need of clothing, furniture and would like to share Christmas gifts with his new family.
- 84 year old mother/grandmother lives on a fixed income. She is in need of car repairs to get her to and from her medical appointments. She is also in need of a refrigerator.
- Husband and wife in their late 60's, only income is their Social Security. After paying their management payment, utilities, food, medical bills and gas for their car, there is not much left.
- Mother and father of two school age children; mother works part time and attends night school after losing her job in the auto industry. The father has a job and works overtime when he can.
- Mother of 3 children under the age of 8 has been out of work since spring. She is taking care of her adult mentally handicapped brother and gave up a baby for adoption a few weeks ago.
- Wife in her late thirties is on disability from work. Her husband works at a minimum wage job. They have 4 children under the age of 20. They are behind on their rent and fear eviction. The kids need clothes, shoes, and boots. They also need help with food.
- Wife was laid off from work. Her husband works making minimum wage. They have 3 children. One child is Bipolar and the other two children are asthmatic along with the mother. They need help with medical bills, utilities, winter coats and boots for all of the children.
- Woman in her early forties in unemployed. Her husband is unemployed, and recently left her with 7 children between the ages of 4 and 21 years of age. She needs help with utilities and a house payment. The children need clothes and Christmas gifts. Our church helps them with food.
- Wife is unemployed, her husband was incarcerated. They have two children. They are in need of beds for the girls and help with utilities. The church helps them with food, but they could use help with restocking their pantry. Children need winter clothing.
- Single mother of 2 is unemployed. She lost her job of 15 years due to cut backs. She currently receives help from St. Vincent de Paul and receives food from our pantry monthly.
- Couple with a 10 year old child has recently lost their jobs. Both have been actively looking for employment. They are being helped by St. Vincent de Paul and receive food from our pantry.
- Couple has been struggling for the past year since the husband suffered a heart attack and has been unable to work. Wife works part-time and has been looking for full-time work. They have 2 sons, one of which is disabled and is in need of constant care. They are receiving help from St. Vincent de Paul and receive food monthly from our pantry.
- A gentleman lost his job and has been struggling financially ever since. He is currently receiving help from both the St. Vincent de Paul and our parish food pantry. He has used up his unemployment and does odd jobs to help make ends meet.
- A parish family, and members of the Vietnamese community, have two school aged children. The father has lost his job and is actively seeking employment. His wife takes care of her elderly sick mother. This family is very proud and only occasionally receives food from our parish pantry.
- Woman plagued with health problems, currently lives with her sister. Both are widows. They struggle to keep their home and pay for medical and prescription bills. Health and weather permitting, both volunteer at our parish which provides hand-made items to un-wed mothers.
- A single mother of a college-age child is employed in a low-paying job. Her expenses exceed her income even with some help from her child. She struggles to make ends meet and receives food from the parish pantry.
- Divorced father of a 4 year old child is presently out of work. He currently works part-time but struggles to meet his child support and other financial obligations. He is highly skilled, clean-living and actively seeking work.
- A woman with her 2 ½ year old child and her life partner recently moved to Michigan to care for her adopted mother who was dying. Her mother died this past fall, and she is now trying to keep 5 of the 7 adopted children together by adopting them. Her 22 year old adopted brother has cerebral palsy. Her life partner lost his job and there is no money to pay for rent. They are expecting an adoption subsidy at some point, and food stamps, but could use help now.
- Mother found herself in an abusive relationship that also affected her 5 children. She left her job and moved north where they reside in temporary housing at an extended stay hotel. She now works part-time as a secretary. When she contacted St. Vincent de Paul for help she only asked for clothing for her children and nothing for herself.
- Grandmother is suffering from an aneurysm and is wheelchair bound. She has been given custody of her 2 grandchildren. She is still waiting for aid for the children and has asked for our help to give them a Christmas.
- A faith-filled family of 7 who are raising 5 children with minimal paying jobs. Father works weekend jobs to help pay their medical bills due to a lack of medical insurance. Any help would provide relief to catch up on bills and food for their children.
- Family of 5 is struggling to make ends meet. Father is under-employed and hasn't received a raise in 6 years. The mother volunteers at the parish and is a stay at home mom. Two family members suffer from asthma with monthly medical bills have put a strain on their finances.
- A single mother is recovering from breast cancer surgery. She has been notified that her company will close at the end of the year. She currently can pay her rent and provide for her family with the help of other family members. Funds will help her pay medical bills and put gas in her car.
- Couple struggles to provide food, pay utilities and clothes for their 7 children. Husband works extra hours at a low paying job to provide for the family. His wife works part-time jobs to help pay the bills and faithfully volunteers at the church in lieu of a weekly donation.
- A local Catholic family with nine children continues to struggle with the basic needs of heat, light, water and food. They have learned to live with what they have but could use help to stay out of debt.
- An elderly couple were economically devastated by the wife's medical complications following her surgery. She was the only wage earner, and they need help with her medical and living expenses.
- Elderly couple has lost both family and jobs this year. Their main support was their daughter who was deported. This has left them destitute and unable to pay their rent. The father has had a heart attack and the mother has lost her minimum wage job due to cut backs.
- This battered mother and her young children are trying to make a fresh start in the U.S. They were starved and abused by the father who is now deported. The mother is waiting for legal paperwork that will allow her to work.
- Mother is struggling to raise her two autistic boys under 9 years, as well as a daughter. She has been separated from her husband due to his immigration problems. She has little money to live on and struggles to put food on the table. She cannot work outside of the home due to her sons' extreme disabilities. Her car and refrigerator are broken.
- Married couple with two small children has lost their home to foreclosure. They do not have family in the area to help them. The family is trying to keep their utilities current so they will be in good standing for if and when they move to a new home. They have received help from local food pantries but do not have extra money for basic needs like milk, gas for car, etc.
- Single mom with a teenage son has lymphoma. She continues to postpone treatment due to the cost. She works part-time but is unable to make ends meet. Family needs assistance with basic necessities.
- A widowed senior citizen cares for her 24 year old disabled daughter. Both she and her daughter have been hospitalized several times this year. She does not drive. Transportation expenses, winter utilities and adult diapers for her daughter have put a strain on her limited budget.
- Unemployed single mother with two young children had surgery last year due to a brain tumor. She now suffers medical problems with her vision and processing information. She continues, with great difficulty, to maintain a home for her children while awaiting a disability hearing.
- Disabled single woman was diagnosed with a tumor on her spine a few years ago. She is in constant pain and is unable to work. Her bills have become more than she can handle.
- Single woman has been out of work for a few years. She is at the end of her savings and is in need of help.
- Couple with 8 children. Father's hours have been cut back and his wife works at home caring for the children who are too young to go to school. Money was spent on car repairs to enable the father to get to work. Children are in need of winter coats and boots.
- Mother raising her 2 children under the age of 11 works two jobs while attending school. Her husband is in prison for trying to kill her and her children.
- Family of six. Father is temporarily employed and the mother is the caregiver for two family members. The children's ages range from 7 to 13. They have extreme difficulty providing food for the family and paying bills.
- Single unemployed mother of 5 children under the age of 15, are in need of clothing, food, shoes, medical bills and car repairs. She is 3 months behind on her rent and is worried about losing their rental home.
- Single mother of 4 children under the age of 15 is employed at a minimum wage part-time job. They do not receive help from the father. The grandmother also resides with them. They need help with food, clothing, medical bills, utility bills, and rent.
- Family of eight. Children's ages range from 1 to 14 years. Mother is employed and the father's work is temporary. They have moved several times to keep their rent manageable. They need help for food, clothing, medical bills, utility bills, and rent.
- Couple with 2 children, ages 6 and 10. The husband was permanently laid off from his job and is barely able to cover his rent and utilities. His wife has been diagnosed with cancer and is unable to work her part-time job.
- A young single mother and her 3 children under the ages of 4. Several months ago the father left the home leaving her with an eviction notice and mounting utility bills. She has since found a part-time job but is unable to cover their expenses.
- A single mom with one teenage daughter and a younger child with Downs Syndrome. While working one of her two jobs her appendix burst and she underwent an emergency appendectomy. She is very worried about how she will be able to support her family during her recovery.
- A single mom with her two babies and two school aged children recently moved to a small apartment after being homeless for five months.
- Young couple in their 30's with four beautiful children. The husband had a stroke on the job and has been unable to return to work. His wife is employed at a low paying job and is the sole provider for the family.
- Mother of 4 children is employed as a homecare giver to three elderly women. One of the ladies died and another moved to a nursing home so her income has been drastically reduced. She is having difficulty paying her rent.
- A disabled husband is unable to work. His wife is the sole provider for the family. Recently their daughter and two grandchildren moved in with them. They are having difficulty paying their rent.
- A senior citizen couple live on a very low income. They are both disabled. They are having difficulty paying their rent.
- Woman has been diagnosed with cancer and is currently receiving radiation treatments. She has lost her job and is looking for another. She is struggling to pay her energy bill and property taxes.
- Undocumented divorced mother with five children has been unemployed close to a year. Her husband is in prison and she does not receive child support. She and her family live with her parents.
- Mother came to the United States 8 years ago. She and her husband have three children living here and two in Mexico. Her son was deported and she now cares for her grandchild. Her husband does not work. They were forced to move in with her sister's family. All 13 people live in a mobile home and are in need of food.
- 35 year old father from Salvador lost his job 7 months ago. He has three children; one of the children is physically disabled. He is without insurance, legal papers, and Social Security. He has been rejected by agencies which help people.
- Undocumented father came to the United States 5 years ago. His wife is sick and lives in Mexico with his three children. His only employment is working part-time for the parish. He lives in a one room attic with five other people and is struggling to survive. He is a hard worker.
- Single mother with three teen-age children has applied for many jobs without success. She needs help with food and utility bills. Despite her problems, she often cares for her sister's 4 children when they are in trouble.
- Grandmother lives with her daughter and granddaughter. Her disability income fluctuates and she is hardly ever free from money shortages. She needs help with rent, food, and personal items for the family.
- A senior citizen with serious health problems is living by herself. She receives help from her son and daughter on a regular basis but is in need of help with food and utility bills.
- Young mother of a 6 year old daughter and newborn child has been attending college. She intends to work and go back to school as soon as her premature baby is healthier. She is overwhelmed by rent, food, and clothing for her older daughter.
- Family with 4 children is trying to keep a roof over their heads. The husband is laid off and his wife is the only one working. Christmas will be difficult this year.
- A single parent adopted his grandson. They are living on his Social Security.
- Husband lost his wife to cancer last year. She was the sole provider of the family. He lives with his 2 daughters and 3 grandchildren and is trying to keep his home and pay many medical bills. He has been denied Social Security and disability insurance.
- Wife just lost her husband to an unexpected heart attack. They did not have insurance. She has a son, daughter and a new grandchild. Our parish helped the family with the funeral and burial expenses.
- Single mother with 4 children is employed but is behind on her bills. Her father just passed away and her car was recently stolen. The family needs help with rent and utilities.
- Couple brought home their newborn daughter after she was hospitalized for several weeks. Father is disabled and is waiting for his disability payments to begin. The mother will be returning to work shortly but the family is behind on their bills from when she was off work during her pregnancy.
- Family of three, father was recently laid off and his wife is disabled and unable to work. Family is behind on many household bills. They received a shut off notice for their electricity.
- Family of 7, father is seeking employment after being laid off. His wife is employed at a local hospital. They are behind on their rent due to an unexpected car repair. The children are in need of clothing and basic necessities.
- Woman with limited resources is struggling this holiday season. She has received numerous medical procedures recently. Leg problems limit her mobility. Hand controls are required for her to operate a motor vehicle. She is just thankful to be alive.
- Christmas will be difficult this year for a single mother of two young children. The father of the younger child recently died unexpectedly. This left the mother with numerous bills. One child has special needs. Job hunting is difficult because of the unemployment situation and required child care.
- Mother recently suffered a broken hip and has severe nerve damage. In spite of these disabilities, she continues to scrub floors to supplement her Social Security income and to aid her two adult children who are also struggling.
- Widow has experienced numerous hospital stays. She was near death at one point, with a miraculous recovery. She has breathing problems and requires oxygen. She does not have prescription coverage and lives on income from Social Security and a small pension left by her husband.
- Family of four recently moved into a new home and has been without heat for 2 months. They need help with their gas bill of $1,800. Parents are employed but both experienced a reduction in wages. Dad will return to work full time in January.
- Single parent who works full-time and has never received state assistance is asking for help. She needs help to buy beds with mattresses, pillows, sheets and dresser for her three children. They are currently sleeping on air mattresses. Her greatest wish is to have her children wake up in comfy new beds on Christmas.
- Father and son are having a difficult year. The wife (mother) died this past year. Son lost his job due to outsourcing. Dad had a medical emergency in the summer and now faces numerous medical bills. Both the washer and dryer recently broke and they haven't been able to replace them.
- Single mother with small children recently was evicted from their home and all of their belongings tossed out onto the curb. Mom retrieved as much as she could but she is basically starting over. She is in need of a stove, washer and dryer.
- Single grandmother was awarded custody of her three grandchildren all under the age of 4. She would like to have a nice Christmas with toys and food for her family. She especially needs to purchase a new car seat for the 8 month old baby.
- Family needs assistance with utilities. Husband is unemployed. They have 4 boys under the age of 12. They need help with food, Christmas and heat for their home.
- Family with 4 children. Father had a liver transplant last year with many complications. Before and after his surgery his wife was unable to work full-time while she attended to her husbands needs. The utilities were shut off and the family was forced to move in with a family relative. They are now back in their home and are in need of assistance with outstanding utility and car repair bills.
- Family of four, mother is recovering from breast cancer and her husband is laid off. They are struggling to make ends meet. She volunteers her time at the school because she is grateful for the prayers and support from our community.
- Single mother with a medical condition is unable to work. The father died a few years ago. Family is going through a very difficult time both emotionally and financially.
- Single mom with one adult son and one teen-aged child. She works part-time as a caregiver. She has been struggling with rent payments and utility bills for a long time. The older son is looking for better employment.
- Grandmother recently obtained custody of 6 grandchildren under the age of 6. She also has daughter with one child living with her. She has a car that gets her to and from work but it is unreliable. She is currently not working due to knee surgery and is three months behind in rent.
- Family of five struggling to pay utilities and car payment, in spite of both parents working. They have a strong faith and know that with some assistance, life will get better.
- Father had been out of work, family of four is behind on mortgage and utilities, no health insurance, children attend private school. Father just got a job, family is looking for help to get caught up.
- Woman only receives social security, does odd jobs on the side to make ends meet. She has been sick most of the year and unable to work. Any assistance would help tremendously.
- Grandmother with 3 small grandchildren had to move recently for financial reasons. The family will have only a food box from the parish for Christmas.
- Woman only receives social security and takes care of her daughter’s and son’s children. She is behind on her bills; her son used to help with some of her bills but he lost his job.
- An elderly widow living alone, she needs help with rent, utility, medical bills, will appreciate any help she receives.
- Young couple with three children, husband was downsized and the family is living on unemployment.

- Couple with two young children, both parents lost their jobs a year ago, wife has two part time jobs and the family is working hard to make ends meet.
- Single mother of 3 has been laid off from her job and needs money for utilities and food.
- Young couple with 3 children, both parents lost their jobs this year, unable to find other work. They are living with his mother in her apartment and need assistance to get an apartment and basic necessities.
- Husband was laid off and lost his health benefits, wife has leukemia and needs a bone marrow transplant.
- Single mother of 4, her hours have been reduced, daughter is pregnant, utilities have been shut off, home may be foreclosed. Assistance is needed to pay bills.
- Single mother of 5, unable to work due to child care responsibilities and poor health. Heat has been turned off, fiancé has just found a job, but assistance is needed to catch up on bills and Christmas for the children.
- Single mother of two has been laid off from her job, has no transportation thus limiting her job opportunities. Her only income is social security and sporadic child support. She volunteers in her community, but needs assistance.
- Family of six has been living on DHS and food stamps since husband was injured two years ago. Their lot rent has risen 30%.
- Single mother of 2 lost her job last year and just recently found a part time job. Her mother had to move in recently for health reasons, which will prevent her from working outside the home.
- Single mother of two had her paycheck garnished when her car was stolen and is facing utility shut off for non-payment. Assistance would help her get caught up on her bills and provide some gifts for the children.
- Single mother of three has returned to work after a long layoff. She has gotten behind with her bills and utilities have been shut off. Assistance will help pay the back bills and provide gifts for her sons.
- Single mother of 3 just found work in the hotel housekeeping industry following a layoff, during which time she got behind on rent and is facing eviction. Assistance is needed to get caught up on the rent.
- Husband is disabled, wife can only work part time for health reasons. An unexpected auto repair bill put them behind on their rent. Assistance would help them get caught up on their bills.
- Disabled man has been without utilities since July 2009, presently heating his home with the fireplace and a kerosene heater. He is waiting for an appeal for disability payments and lives on less than $300/mo temporary assistance. Outstanding utilities are in excess of $4K.
- Single father with 4 children, one has special needs. Father is asking for assistance to give his children a good Christmas.
- Single mother with 6 children and 3 grandchildren, needs assistance to make ends meet.
- Single mother of twins, mother is unable to provide Christmas gifts for them this year.
- Single mother with disabled son recently lost her job, utilities have been turned off. Assistance is needed for utilities, food, clothing.
- Single mother with 3 young children recently lost everything in a house fire. Needs appliances, clothing, food. Works part-time in retail, struggling to make ends meet.
- Long time parish family of 5, has been hard hit this year. The mother has health issues and one child is physically and mentally challenged. The father is experiencing heart problems and will be out of work for some time.
- Family of four is struggling to keep their home and pay the bills. Work is slow for the father and the mother works part time. Assistance to help with the bills would be a great Christmas present for this family.
- Single mother of 3 is currently working as a server with limited hours and income. Her infant son was recently hospitalized and she is struggling to pay the rent and other bills.
- Single mother of two has a part time job that requires a lot of driving, in addition to attending school full time. A Christmas check would help alleviate some of the stress this family is facing.
- Young family of 4 is struggling with medical bills for their children. Family home needs major repairs, but they don’t want to ask for help. Assistance would help brighten their holiday.
- Young family of 4, mother lost her long time job and the father was just diagnosed with MS leaving him unable to work. Mother is working multiple part time jobs to provide for her family.
- Single woman cared for her elderly mother until she died a few years ago. She returned to work to keep the family home. Income is very modest and at this time of year, she must choose between food and paying her utility bills.
- Grandmother took in her four abandoned grandchildren and her meager income is insufficient to care for all of them. She does not ask for much and assistance to give the children presents would delight her.
- Single mother of 4 lost much when a sewer flooded their basement and they are now in temporary housing. The older children lost their winter clothes and any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
- Family with 3 teenagers, one parent is on the heart transplant list. The children are very good helpers. The family definitely could use a helping hand.
- Single woman volunteered in her parish and other organizations for many years, suffered a serious injury recently that has left her unable to work and needing assistance.
- Family of 5, long time parishioners, father’s hours have been reduced, mother works in a parochial school. Assistance is needed for food, rent, medical expenses.
- Family of 5, very involved in parish activities, struggle with expenses due to the seasonality of the father’s employment. Assistance will be responsibly used and appreciated.
- Family of 4, father is recently unemployed, the two children have serious medical conditions. Parish members who rely on the parish food pantry for aid. Assistance will be much appreciated.
- Family of 5, the three children have serious medical issues, father is frequently laid off. Assistance will be much appreciated.
- Single mother of two, unable to work due to her multiple disabilities. Her only income is social security and food stamps. Her children live with a relative due to her current living conditions. She has the opportunity to move into a new place, but needs $550 to install a new hot water tank before she can do so.
- Family of 4 was living out of their truck, children were placed in foster care when parents were sent to jail for stealing a purse. Parents have been released and are asking for assistance for rent, utilities, and a gift for each child.
- Mother and three children were hospitalized with breathing difficulties, their house was contaminated with bird and bat droppings. House was condemned, all furniture, clothing, anything fabric had to be destroyed. The father lost his job due to wife’s hospitalization. The family needs warm clothing, household goods, assistance.
- Single mother of three, unable to work due to a child with severe asthma. She needs help to pay bills, get food and medicine, as well as a few gifts for the children.
- Single mother of three was recently diagnosed with MS, unable to work due to her illness. She is looking for assistance with bills, medicine, and Christmas gifts.
- Single mother of five, on medication following a nervous breakdown. The family needs assistance to pay their utility bills.
- Single mother of two, cares for her mother as well as a sister with two children. Their refrigerator recently went out and they need assistance to purchase another one.
- Single woman is suffering from diabetes in addition to health issues caused by mold in her home. The landlord is refusing to correct the problem and she needs help to move elsewhere.
- Single mother of two, she and boyfriend both lost their jobs, unemployment benefits have run out. They have moved in with family and need assistance.
- Kindergarten girl is living with her grandparents following the death of her mother from cancer. Grandparents’ only income is social security and the family would benefit greatly from a holiday blessing.
- Family of four is struggling to pay their bills after the father was laid off over a year ago. They could use help to pay their mortgage and utilities.
- Family of five, father was out of work for almost a year and just recently started a new job. They could use money for mortgage, insurance, and food.

- Family of five, very active in their parish, helping with an out of state family member with a terminal illness has them struggling to pay their bills and their utilities have been shut off for non-payment. Assistance is requested to help get caught up with their bills.
- Single woman, lost her job with one of the Big Three two years ago, unemployment has run out, and she could use some help.

They do not have a working stove and have been using a toaster oven and microwave since this spring.
- Single mother of six has been unemployed for the last few months. Her utilities have been shut off and she is delinquent with her rent. She is a dedicated and loving mother and is concerned about her children’s living conditions.
- Single mother of three, is working to complete her education in addition to working and raising her children. Her work hours have been reduced and her car is in need of major repairs.
- Single mother of four is reluctant to ask for help, but her job does not provide enough income to have some much needed plumbing and electrical repairs done.

- Couple from Mexico has three children who were born here in the United States. A few years ago the father had to return to Mexico and has been unable to return to this country. The mother works three jobs while her children are in school. This family struggles financially and needs assistance with utility bills and Christmas.
- Couple came to this country as refugee children fleeing the tragedies of El Salvador during the 1980’s. The husband is currently working but is having a difficult time finding a permanent job. His wife is a stay-at-home mother. They have 3 children under the age of 10.
- Family of 5, the husband suffered a stroke last year leaving him incapable of completing more than simple tasks. His wife has been trying to work whenever possible in order to purchase medicine for her husband and for necessities for her children.
- Couple with four children ranging in age from 8 to 18 years old. Husband was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer a few years ago and is unable to work. His wife works a few hours when possible at a local retail store. Mounting medical bills and emotional fatigue have worn away at the families’ courage. The family seeks food and help with electrical bills.
- Widow with three young children. Her husband died unexpectedly last summer. She currently works at a nearby hospital.
- Single father with two children. His wife left him over 8 years ago. This year he was laid off from his job. He is getting by with his unemployment checks and is actively seeking employment.
- Single disabled father of two girls under the age of 5 needs help with utilities and furnace repair. Family was abandoned by the mother. Children need warm clothing and gifts at Christmas.
- Mother needs house repairs to keep children and stay in their home. Landlord abandoned the property due to taxes. Mother assumed the responsibility of the house but might lose her children if the repairs are not made.

- Woman is disabled after having a brain tumor removed. She earns a small income from cleaning one home. She currently receives State Assistance for food and is waiting for disability benefits. She needs assistance with her rent and utilities.
- Woman has very serious health problems. She is in and out of the hospital often. She lives with her mother who takes excellent care of her. Both are unable to work. They are in need of help with utilities and home repairs. We are currently working on getting them a ramp for their home for greater mobility.
- Widow in her late 80’s is living with her daughter in her late 60’s. She is somewhat disabled but still manages to help out at Church. Both incomes are not enough to pay their rent, food, clothing and personal expenses.
- Woman lives close to our parish. She is a quiet person who never complains. She does not have much money and often cannot pay her household bills.
- Woman with twins, is presently unemployed but attending school. Her utilities have been cut off and she struggles to pay her rent and to keep her children clothed properly.
- Man is a victim of severe back and nerve damage from a car accident. His physical condition now makes holding a permanent job very difficult, and has forced him to live in very low-budget, unsavory and dangerous conditions. His wife and children abandoned him, so he struggles simply to survive.
- Woman is a victim of a very abusive family situation. She struggles raising and providing for her four young children. She receives assistance from the Department of Human Services. The St. Vincent de Paul organization regularly helps the family with food, diapers etc.
- Disabled couple is unemployed. They receive assistance with their mortgage, food, prescriptions, utilities, and gasoline. They have two young children.
- Woman is a senior citizen who takes care of her husband. They do not have any children. Her husband has been sick for over two years. Her only income is from Social Security. She helps from time to time in our food pantry.
- Widower and mother of three children is working full time for a cleaning company. Her hours have been reduced to less than 20 hours a week. She came to our parish asking for help with food.
- Husband’s wife died and left him with two babies. He was laid off this past year. He is facing foreclosure. Taking care of his family and seeking permanent employment are his particular worries.
- Woman with two children. She tries to work from her home but her income is not enough to pay her bills. She has been coming to our pantry and some times helps us with organizing the food and keeping the facilities clean. Her children are her motivation and hope.
- Woman is separated 2 years with seven children, is living with her disabled brother. She has been unemployed for quite some time but is seeking employment as a cashier. She needs help with utility bills, food, clothing and toys for Christmas.
- Single grandmother works at a nursing home. Her disabled daughter is in her early 30’s with M.S. She is in need of a full size bed, tires for the family car, and help with her electric bills.
- Single mother with 4 children is in need of beds, sofa, tables, car repairs, tires and clothing. She tries to keep a stable home for her children.
- Single mother of 2 children under the age of 5 is currently living with her brother. She is in need of winter clothing, help with electric and heating bills, and other household items.
- Grandmother is filing for guardianship of her 3 grandchildren. She moved from her studio apartment to a house in order to keep them. She is in need of additional beds, dressers and clothing.
- Couple with 6 young children struggle financially despite the husbands’ full-time employment. They need assistance with clothing for the children and help with utility bills to avoid another shut off.
- Grandmother has been sick while caring for her 3 grandchildren. She needs help with her bills and gifts for her grandchildren.
- Mother of three recently lost her job and house. She is trying to go back to school for additional training. She needs assistance to enable her to move her family into an apartment.
- Woman’s income was recently reduced due to cut back in her hours. She is alone without a family. She is in need of assistance to pay her bills.
- Woman needs help purchasing eye glasses. She has been laid off and is without insurance. She currently helps take care of her nephew whose mother is in the military.
- 33 year old woman with a young daughter suffers from multiple health problems. She receives Social Security but struggles financially. She is in need of assistance with clothing and food.
- Family of 4. Their young daughter is ill. They are without heat and simple basic needs. The husband works at a low paying job. They have health insurance, but it doesn’t cover all of their medical needs.
- Family of 7. Husband was injured at work and is without health insurance or disability income. They are struggling with the daily necessities.
- Family of 5. Husband is employed at a low paying job that barely covers their monthly expenses.
- Single mother with cancer is unable to work. She has one school-age child. She is receiving food stamps and financial aid. She is very anxious about her health and the care of her child.
