Comcast to move CTND to Channel 398

May  21, 2009 -  Comcast Cable has reported that it will move CTND from Channel 296 to Channel 398 on all Comcast Cable Systems in southeastern Michigan. The change will take place between May 27 and June 2. It is part of a move that will switch a total of 55 channels, including other religious-themed channels.

Comcast customers will not need to make any adjustments or upgrades because of this change. They will be notified by Comcast of the new channel lineup.

In January 2008, Comcast had moved CTND into the digital tier of its offerings. As has been the case since then, CTND is available only to subscribers with a Comcast Digital Box or a Digital Tuner Television.  To upgrade to this service, subscribers need to contact Comcast at 888-COMCAST (888-266-2278) and follow the voice-prompts to Cable Television – Residential Service. Postage and handling will be charged if the box is mailed.  It is relatively easy to install. Subscribers requesting help from the cable company will pay approximately $20.

The digital upgrade will be free for the first year, but only to viewers who request the local CTND/EWTN combination channel.  After that, subscribers will either pay a monthly box fee or have that cost folded into a new, higher rate for additional digital programming.
