Detroit — Catholic high schools in the Archdiocese of Detroit came home with two state championships, and two second-place finishes this season.

Last weekend, Regina High School in Harper Woods and Cabrini High School in Allen Park won the Division 1 and Division 4 State Championships, respectively.

Regina eked out a 2-1 decision over previously undefeated White Lake Lakeland to capture its fourth straight state title. Regina finished the season with a 38-5 record.

Cabrini, meanwhile, captured state and national records along with its Division 4 crown.

Cabrini won its second straight State Championship by garnering a perfect 35-0 record with a 10-0 finals win against Frankfort High School.

Kristen Gulock, a Regina High School pitcher, got the win Saturday and the team won its fourth straight state title.
The Cabrini Monarchs also set a national record by only allowing a single run the entire season. And the team's 74 straight wins over the last two seasons is a state record.

Junior pitcher Katie Osburn's shutout of Frankfort was also her 12th no-hitter of the season. After two straight Division 4 championships this year, Cabrini next year will compete in Division 3.

Catholic schools also competed in the Division 2 softball and Division 3 title games. In Division 2 baseball, Mount Pleasant High School defeated St. Mary's of Orchard Lake 7-4 in the final game. St. Mary's finished the season 28-12.

In softball, St. Mary Catholic Central High School in Monroe was on the short end of an 8-0 score against Unionville-Sebewaing High School. St. Mary Catholic Central was 26-11 for the season.
