Royal Oak — Several hundred people, including several dozen priests, were among those celebrating the dedication of National Shrine of the Little Flower's new gathering space, Heritage Hall. The hallway connects the church, adoration chapel, administrative offices and gift shop, and displays information about the history of the parish, information about patron saint St. Therese of Lisieux, a donor recognition wall, and historical items from the early years of the parish.

Archbishop John C. Nienstedt, formerly pastor at Shrine and now co-adjutor of the Minneapolis/St. Paul Archdiocese, returned to celebrate Mass and preside at a blessing of the new hall and St. Therese statue. Eventually, the hall will connect with a community center, which will be built later. Visit www.shrinechurch.com.
