Briefly describe your route to the priesthood:
My journey to the priesthood began when I was still young. My older brother started talking about becoming a priest when he was an altar boy. When I became an altar boy as well, I started thinking about it seriously. As time passed by I often thought of taking up other professions ranging from studying law to medicine and teaching.
However, each time I started to think seriously about something other than priesthood a certain man of blessed memory (Mr. Frumbee, I would not say coincidentally) will suddenly resurface to remind me of the promise I made when I was a child that I wanted to be a priest. Each time he came and talked to me it seems like I was hearing God Himself speaking to me.
When I finally came to the United States I started to think of doing something other than priesthood. But the more I thought of these things, the more anxious and worried I became. I became less worried and peaceful when I choose to continue in the seminary. To me that was a strong indication that the Lord was calling me to the priesthood. For many years I have been praying about it and the more I pray the more confidence I feel that I am called to be a priest. I thank the Lord for showing me the favor by choosing me to serve Him as a priest.
Having decided you had a vocation, did you ever have second thoughts about it? How did you resolve any doubts or fears?
See above response.
What are the greatest challenges you see facing the Church? Where do you see the greatest hope?
Relativism, secularism and the lukewarm attitude of many Catholics nowadays. (No response given to second question.)
What are your hopes for your priestly ministry?
To serve the people of God and to constantly pray for true conversion and that the Christians I would serve be fired with more enthusiasm and zeal for their faith.
What about your priestly ministry do you anticipate will be the most rewarding?
Celebrating the Eucharist reverently and being there to preach counsel the people of God.
