Bishop Quinn tries on a miter suitable for cold Minnesota weather, presented to him by Bishop Joseph Imesch.
Detroit Auxiliary Bishop John Quinn was given a warm sendoff this week at Sacred Heart Major Seminary as he prepares to become coadjutor bishop of the Diocese of Winona, Minn.

The bishop was honored, and teased, by fellow priests at a dinner that followed a Vespers service at the seminary on Nov. 24.

He will serve with and then replace another former Detroit auxiliary bishop, Bishop Bernard Harrington, who has been head of the diocese since Jan. 6, 1999.
