Chrism Mass
 
During the annual Chrism Mass Holy Thursday morning, Archbishop Allen Vigneron consecrated the chrism oil (used for baptism, confirmation and holy orders), the oil of the sick and the oil of catechumens. The oils were then distributed to parishes. Also, priests from throughout the archdiocese made a public renewal of their commitment to priestly service.
 
 
Mass of the Lord's Supper
 
Commemorating Christ washing the feet of his Twelve Apostles at the Last Supper, Archbishop Allen Vigneron washed the feet of twelve members of the faithful at the Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament in the evening of Holy Thursday.
 
 
Veneration of the Cross
 
During a solemn prayer service to commemorate Christ's Passion on Good Friday, Archbishop Allen Vigneron and Catholics at Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament remembered the crucifixion through the veneration of the cross and the reading of the passion.
 
 
Easter Vigil
 
The Easter Vigil celebrates Christ's rising from the dead. During the Mass Holy Saturday night, Archbishop Allen Vigneron lit the paschal candle from the Easter fire and welcomed new members into the Church through the sacraments of baptism, confirmation and the Eucharist.
