Bishop Earl Boyea Is New Bishop of LansingBishop Earl Boyea
Cardinal Adam Maida and Papal Nuncio Pietro Sambi install former Detroit Auxiliary Bishop Earl Boyea as the 5th Bishop of Lansing in a ceremony April 29 at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, East Lansing. 
 
"The Church of Lansing is truly blessed to have Bishop Boyea as their new chief shepherd," says Cardinal Maida.

 
International Eucharistic Congress Detroit Auxiliary Bishop Francis Reiss will be attending the International Eucharistic Congress.  Spiritual and educational programs are among the many events planned at the nine day Congress in Quebec City.  Individuals and groups can still make plans to participate by contacting officials in Canada.

Continuing the celebration of the Resurrection of Jesus, the Easter Season lasts 50 days and concludes with the Feast of Pentecost on May 11.

Archdiocese Strengthens Financial Oversight

Parishes and schools in the Archdiocese of Detroit will face a financial audit every three years under a new program to begin by the end of 2007. In addition, a hotline will be set up to report suspected financial abuses.
