Women Encountering God in Friendship and LoveThe Fifth Annual Catholic Women's Conference will be held on Saturday, October 27, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Macomb Community College Sports & Expo Center, 14500 East 12 Mile Road in Warren. Women of all ages and states in life, including young adults age 14 and up, are welcome.

This year's conference, "Women Encountering Christ in Friendship and Love" will include a morning prayer service, Mass celebrated by Detroit Auxiliary Bishop Daniel Flores, eucharistic adoration, Benediction, and a variety of presentations.

Speakers will include Immaculée Ilibagiza, author of the best-selling book, Left to Tell, Discovering God Amidst the Rwandan Holocaust; Sr. Prudence Allen, RSM, co-founder of the national Catholic women's organization, ENDOW (Educating on the Nature and Dignity of Women); Patricia Cooney-Hathaway, Ph.D., associate professor of Spirituality and Systematic Theology at Sacred Heart Major Seminary; and Bishop Flores.

During lunch, there will be two special break-out sessions: one for single young adult women (18-40), and one for teenage girls (14-17). The conference is sponsored by the Office of Evangelization of the Department of Parish Life & Services of the Archdiocese of Detroit.

The cost is $45 for adults and $35 for full-time college or high school students, and includes the conference and lunch. Pre-registration is required. Religious are free of charge, but must register. The deadline for registration is October 17.
