Catholic Television Network of Detroit to Broadcast Special Christmas Programs

The Catholic Television Network (CTND), in cooperation with the Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN), is offering special Christmas programming for the holiday season.  CTND is carried by cable systems throughout Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Monroe, Lapeer, and St. Clair Counties.  For channel information, viewers should check www.CTND.tv or the Weekly Program Guide in The Michigan Catholic. 
Here is a sampling of the programs:
 
December 24/25
Solemn Midnight Mass with Pope Benedict XVI

Solemn Midnight Mass on Christmas Eve with Pope Benedict XVI will be broadcast LIVE from St. Peter's Basilica at 6 p.m. on Monday, December 24.  The Mass will be repeated on Tuesday, December 25, at 8 a.m. and 7 p.m.

Choral Meditations / Solemn Mass of Christmas Eve

Choral Meditations and the Solemn Mass of Christmas Eve from the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C. will be broadcast LIVE on Monday, December 24, at 10 p.m.
 
December 25/26
Solemn Mass of Christmas

The Franciscan Missionaries of the Eternal Word will celebrate Solemn Mass of Christmas from the Our Lady of Angels Chapel in Irondale, Alabama.  The Mass will be broadcast LIVE on Tuesday, December 25, at 1 a.m. and repeated at 12 p.m. and on Wednesday, December 26, at 12 a.m.

Pope Benedict XVI's Christmas Blessing and Message to the World

LIVE from the Vatican, Pope Benedict XVI will deliver his Christmas Day Blessing and Message to the World (Urbi Et Orbi) on Tuesday, December 25, at 6 a.m.  It will be repeated at 10 p.m. and on Wednesday, December 26, at 3 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Vespers of Thanksgiving with Pope Benedict XVI

Pope Benedict XVI will preside at the first vespers of thanksgiving at the year's end in St. Peter's Basilica. The vespers service will be broadcast LIVE at 12 p.m. on Monday, December 31, and repeated at 5 p.m.
 
January 1/2
Solemn Mass of Reparation

The Franciscan Missionaries of the Eternal Word will celebrate a Mass of Reparation from the Our Lady of Angels Chapel in Irondale, Alabama. The Mass will be broadcast LIVE at 12 a.m. on Tuesday, January 1, and repeated at 8 a.m. and on Wednesday, January 2, at 12 a.m.

Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God, Mass with Pope Benedict XVI

The Mass of the Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God, and the 41st World Day of Peace with Pope Benedict XVI will be broadcast LIVE from St. Peter's Basilica at 4 a.m. on Monday, January 1, and repeated at 12 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
