Funeral Service for Stephanie Currie

Issued: March 23, 2009
Contact: Ned McGrath, infodesk@aod.org / (313) 237-5943

The funeral service for Stephanie Currie, one of four teenagers killed in a horrific Macomb County traffic accident, will be held on Monday, March 23, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Peter's Church, 110 New St., Mount Clemens. Prior to the service, at 11 a.m., the body will lie in state in the church. Fr. Michael Cooney, pastor, will preside at the service.

The Archdiocesan Department of Communications relays a request from the Currie family, that no recording devices— video, audio, or still photography— be allowed inside the church building while the body lies in state or during the funeral service

Media representatives and media vehicles will not be allowed in the church parking lot or on other parish property without permission.

Reporters and crews covering this story are reminded of the solemnity of this occasion and are asked to respect the Currie family's need for privacy and personal space. In addition, they are asked to honor the family's request in regard to recording devices and still photography.
