The parish church is the ordinary place for the celebration of Catholic marriages. Marriage is not merely a private or familial celebration, the sacrament takes place when spouses declare their consent before 'God and the Church'. The couple then lives out their commitment in and with the local church community. The local church gathers and celebrates at the parish. It is therefore fitting that the marriage celebration should take place in the parish church.
Catholic Chapels:
The Archdiocese has certified some Catholic Chapels where Catholic marriages can take place as well.
