The Adult Faith Formation Association is open to and exists for everyone involved in or interested in the ministry of adult faith formation!
What it is
Three times a year those involved in the ministry of adult faith formation gather for a workshop or presentation which is designed to:
- deepen their theological understandings
- enrich their spirituality
- enhance their ministerial skills, especially in the area of adult faith formation
- provide new ideas for programming and resources for parish adult faith formation
- bring people together for networking, community and resourcing each other
Who usually participates
- Directors of Adult Faith Formation
- Pastors
- Directors of Religious Education
- Pastoral Associates
- All Parish Pastoral Staff members (for all have shared responsibility for adult faith formation)
- Parish Adult Faith Formation Teams and Committees
- Education Commission members
- Parish Pastoral Council members
- Vicariate Pastoral Council members
- and many of the offerings are of interest to the "persons-in-the-pew" as they continue to grow in their faith
How
A Steering Committee plans the gatherings for the Adult Faith Formation Association. This Committee is composed of
- two members from archdiocesan central services
- a member of the archdiocesan Board of Education, and
- nine members from parishes who are involved in the ministry of adult faith formation.
They serve for three year rotating terms, with three new people beginning their service on the Steering Committee each year.
