About Campus Ministry
Campus Ministry sponsors activities and programs for the cultivation of human spirituality and faith at our colleges and universities. Campus Ministry invites each member of the campus community to participate in those programs that serve to nurture her or his spiritual growth. The unique gifts and perspectives of each Campus Minister offer students many ways to further their spiritual growth--from addressing the needs of individuals through one-on-one pastoral counseling and spiritual direction to uniting the larger community in worship, social justice projects, and retreats.
Campus Ministry seeks to enhance the faith life of our community; to act as a servant church; to point to God's action in the world and our own lives; to communicate the Good News of God's love and acceptance; to reconcile the alienated and wounded; to heal divisions within the Christian church and with other religions.
With reliance on God and guidance from the Catholic tradition, we strive to form a community of faith, promoting the spiritual, intellectual and moral development of all its members, so that together we can work for justice and peace and offer effective leadership in church and society.
Pope John Paul II has invited our Catholic youth to "lead our church into the third millennium of Christianity." It is our mission to give students the tools to do just that. Active student leaders helping us to be witnesses of Christ's presence to each other, our community, and our world. With this in mind Campus Ministry in the Archdiocese of Detroit has embarked on a new direction reaching out to young adults on campus and in the community.
