WYD 2011

"Rooted and built up in Jesus Christ, firm in the faith"
Based on Colossians 2:7
 
The theme of WYD 2011 inspires youth to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. To that end, the Archdiocese of Detroit has been working on preparations for pilgrimage options for World Youth Day in 2011.
 
The next international WYD will be held In August of 2011 in Madrid, Spain. How wonderful it would be if all the young people of our archdiocese had an opportunity to experience some sort of pilgrimage for WYD.
 
Madrid, Spain Options:
  • Hotel Accommodations through Corporate Travel Service
    (One free trip for each six paid participants-excluding WYD registration fee)
  • Dormitory Accommodations - through Corporate Travel Service
    (One free trip for each six paid participants-excluding WYD registration fee)
  • Simple Accommodations through Corporate Travel Service
    (Cost will cover flights, WYD registration and transfers to assigned locations)
Madrid, Spain Pre-trip Options:
Rome or Days in the Diocese (possible locations in Barcelona or Lisbon, Portugal or Madrid area)
World Youth Day Pilgrimage in Michigan
World Youth Day Home includes prayer, song, concerts, drama, sharing, liturgy, catechesis, and more rolled into a shorter period of time in a local setting.
  • Begins at the Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, August 20, 2011
  • Ends at St. Hubert Parish, Harrison Twp. at 10:00 a.m. Sunday, August 21, 2011.
