Fr. Augustine Tolton 1st black priest in the U.S. | February is Black History Month
Black History Month celebrates the achievements and contributions of blacks to culture, science, society, and history. It was begun in 1976 by the Association for the Study of Afro-American Life and History as an expansion of Negro History Week, established in 1926 by Carter G. Woodson.
