A Message From The Cardinal

My Brothers and Sisters
in the Lord:

Welcome to America and to the Archdiocese of Detroit! Our nation has a long and strong history because we represent a mosaic of people of almost every race, culture, and ethnic group from around the globe!

This is especially true of our own metro area of Detroit. In one way or another, all of us are immigrants or descendents of immigrants and, therefore, we have the privilege and duty to be people who offer warm hospitality to new arrivals.

To those who are joining us, I offer words of warm welcome and the assurance of our prayers and desire to help you get a good start in this wonderful land. I also pray that your faith life will be strong and well supported here in the Archdiocese.

With prayerful best wishes, I remain

Sincerely in the Lord,
Adam Cardinal Maida
Archbishop of Detroit
