Success Story: Thanksgiving Dinner
At St. James Parish, we offer Thanksgiving dinner to any parishioner, homeless person or visitor who otherwise has no one with whom to celebrate Thanksgiving. This program is especially popular with seniors and singles.
We have a special collection after Masses a few weeks before Thanksgiving for the funds with which to purchase food. We advertise in the bulletin and with pulpit announcements for volunteers to shop for, prepare and serve the dinner. This year we worked in collaboration with the Knights of Columbus.
