Members of the Archdiocesan Review Board

Judge Michael J. Talbot is chairperson of the Archdiocesan Review Board. He served as a trial judge for over 20 years before his appointment in 1998 to the Michigan Court of Appeals. Judge Talbot assisted in the writing of the first Victim's Rights Law for the State of Michigan and was responsible for implementing the law in courts and law enforcement agencies of Wayne County. He is known as a strong advocate for the right of victims. Judge Talbot serves as chair of the Advisory Board for Catholic Education of the Archdiocese of Detroit. He is also a member of the Judicial Tenure Commission. In addition, he has served on parish councils in two parishes and on numerous other Catholic boards and committees. He received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Detroit School of Law in 1971. Judge Talbot is single and lives in Plymouth.
Robert W. Asmussen is Vice President, Strategic Planning, St. John Health. He has worked in the health care field for 40 years. Asmussen is Chairman, Board of Directors, St. Vincent and Sarah Fisher Center. He is also Vice Chair of Arbor Hospice. Asmussen and his wife, Patricia, reside on Grosse Ile and have five children and seven grandchildren.
 
 

Nancy J. Diehl
has worked as a prosecutor for over 24 years and currently heads the Felony Trial Division in the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office overseeing general trails, homicide, auto theft, major drugs and the Child and Family Abuse Bureau. She lectures extensively throughout the state and nationally on domestic violence and child abuse investigation, prosecution and related issues. Diehl is the coauthor of four booklets pertaining to children and the legal system. She is also a facilitator for the Protecting God's Children program. Diehl is single and lives in Detroit.

Father Ronald Jozwiak
is a canon lawyer. He served on the Metropolitan Tribunal of the Archdiocese of Detroit for 15 years and is now the pastor of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Troy. Fr. Jozwiak was ordained to the priesthood in 1979. He is a licensed professional counselor and an active member of the Board of Catholic Social Services, Wayne County. He is also a facilitator for the Protecting God's Children program.
 

Patricia M. Moylan, Ph.D.
is a Pediatric Neuropsychologist in the Department of Neurosurgery at Children's Hospital of Michigan. She is also an Associate Professor at Wayne State Medical School. Moylan resides in Northville. She is a single mother of two children, Max and Hannah, who were born in Paraguay, South America, and adopted as infants.
 
 
 

Archbishop's Delegate to the Board:

Monsignor Ricardo E. Bass
is Archbishop Vigneron's Delegate to the Archdiocesan Review Board and has a special mandate to address any and all matters relating to the conduct of the clergy. Ordained in 1974, he is a canon lawyer and pastor of Prince of Peace Parish, West Bloomfield. Msgr. Bass is a former Judicial Vicar of the Metropolitan Tribunal of the Archdiocese of Detroit, a former Assistant Professor of Canon Law at the former St. John's Provincial Seminary, and a former President of the Canon Law Society of America (1993-1994).


Staff to the Board:

Father Ronald T. Browne is a priest of the Archdiocese of Detroit and a canon and civil lawyer. He serves as Promoter of Justice for the archdiocese.

Sister Barbara Celeskey, SJ, is the Archbishop's Delegate for Agencies and Institutions.

Sister Beverly Hindson, IHM, is a chaplain at Children's Hospital of Michigan. She serves as the Victim Assistance Coordinator.

Ned McGrath is Director of Communications for the Archdiocese of Detroit.

Thomas Van Dusen is a partner in the law firm of Bodman LLP, the law firm retained by the archdiocese.

Catherine Wagner is Director of the Department of Parish Life & Services of the Archdiocese of Detroit.
