Discernment Weekend Participants Encouraged by Cardinal Maida

The Liturgy is always an important and essential element for the closing of a Discernment Weekend. Men who come to pray, contemplate and discern a calling to the priesthood are invited to join with the Sacred Heart Major Seminary community at the table of the Lord in the final moments of the weekend. For those who attended the weekend of March 24-27, 2005, it was even more special as they were guests of Adam Cardinal Maida at the Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament for the Palm Sunday Liturgy. After the liturgy the Cardinal met privately in the side chapel with the participants where he thanked them for considering a vocational calling to the priesthood and participating in a Discernment Weekend. His Eminence then encouraged them to keep praying and seeking God's perfect will as they journey in the discernment process. Before leaving he imparted a personal blessing to them.

His Eminence, Cardinal Maida meets with and encourages the participants for the March Discernment Weekend `05; along with Fr. Jim Bilot the Director of Vocations for the Archdiocese of Detroit.
