What can I expect when I contact the Diaconate office?

This office responds to all requests for information. Most of the information can be found here, on the web site. If requested, a packet will be sent to you that offers an overview of the Diaconate program and formation. Further and in depth information will be presented at Deacon Information gatherings.

When and where are the Diaconate Information gatherings?

The meetings are held 5 times a year at various locations. Two at Sacred Heart Major Seminary, one each winter and summer. The other times and locations will be announced in the Michigan Catholic newspaper, vicariate newsletters and church bulletins. These will all be in the summer.

Must I attend these Gatherings?

Both you and your spouse, if married, must attend an information gathering. These gatherings last about 2 ˝ hours. Most of your questions will be answered at these sessions but some individual questions may need to be answered through the director's office.
