Father George Miller was ordained a priest of the Franciscan Order on June 10, 1978. After serving two assignments as associate pastor, he began working full time in the tribunal of the Archdiocese of Detroit in March, 1982, where he functioned as a judge of the court by rescript of the Apostolic Signatura. In April, 1992, he completed a JCL in canon law. In 1990, he was incardinated into the Archdiocese of Detroit. Since completing his licentiate degree he has functioned as Adjutant Judicial Vicar while serving in two parishes as a part-time associate. On July 1, 2001, he was appointed Judicial Vicar of the Metropolitan Tribunal of Detroit.

In addition, Fr. Miller founded and directs the lay-advocate program of the archdiocese, has taught canon law courses at Sacred Heart Seminary since 1992, has functioned as spiritual director for the Catholic Lawyers Society (1992-1999), was Delegate of the Cardinal for Matrimonial Matters from 1992-2001), and judges marriage nullity cases for the Diocese of Toledo in additional to his responsibilities in the Detroit tribunal.
