Autobiography of Mary L. Putrow, OP
I was baptized into the church of Detroit and attended Detroit Catholic Schools.  The Adrian Dominicans were my teachers and when I searched for a response to God's call I found my inspiration in them and entered that congregation.

Education has been my professional choice over many years. I enjoyed a short period of teaching in Catholic grade and high schools. I was among the first full time Directors of Religious Education in the Archdiocese of Detroit. Since my DRE days I have spent time overseas, working with other cultures, I have served on the Leadership Council of the Adrian Dominicans and on the staff of St. Blasé Parish in Sterling Heights. I have also taught at St. Cyril and Methodius in Orchard Lake and at Marygrove College.

I now am a full time faculty member at Sacred Heart Major Seminary where my primary work is in the field of catechetics.  I help prepare candidates for priestly and diaconal ministry and men and women for lay ecclesial ministry.  I try to combine both my theology and my knowledge of adult learning to promote the continuing catechesis of adults.

My research interest is in women and their contributions to the faith life of children and adults.
