Consortium Information
The Cardinal Szoka Library is a member of the Catholic Consortium of Colleges in the Detroit area. This allows the students of all member institutions to enjoy borrowing privileges at any and all of the member libraries.
Member institutions include:
A student from any member of the Consortium may activate his or her borrowing privileges at the Cardinal Szoka Library by registering with a staff member during library hours. The student is responsible for providing a current student ID from the College or University in which they are enrolled, and a valid drivers license or other current form of picture I.D. Students will not be allowed to borrow materials unless this information is provided.
Borrowing privileges
Borrowing privileges for Consortium students include the following:
- Checking out books, cassette tapes and video cassettes
- Complete use of the collection during operating hours
- Reference Service
- Use of the library photocopiers and microfilm machines
- Access to the online catalog, the Internet, and CD-Roms
Privileges do not include the following:
- Interlibrary loan through the Cardinal Szoka Library
- Database searches done on site
- Use of the rare book room or archives
Consortium students are asked to return all materials on time, to renew them over the phone, or by way of e-mail (2 renewals max.). There are no fines for overdue books, but privileges will be revoked for delinquent borrowers.
