March 2009
March Happenings at The Retreat Center
If variety is the spice of life, we were vibrant and healthy at The Retreat Center during the month of March.
- Archdiocesan Youth Ministers, regular classes, a men’s prayer group, an evening fund-raiser, widowed friends, a national vocation organization, a marriage resource group, a social services organization were among many who claimed time and space away from their ordinary routines to come apart and appreciate God’s presence and pray and plan for the future.
- A large organization of Catholic sisters from around the country returned for several days of leadership training, prayer and recreation. They praised the outstanding service of our staff from beginning to end.
- A planning committee checked in to prepare for their upcoming Chapter at the Center.
- Five parish confirmation retreats infused youthful energy into the Center on Saturdays and Sundays.
- Three high school retreats enabled teenagers to focus on their spiritual development in an environment that promoted group work and worship.
- A diversity of Protestant communities, many returning after blessed and successful previous retreats, enjoyed the hospitality of the Center.
Around 1300 guests were welcomed this month.
