Front Desk
 
The Retreat Center Reception Desk is staffed 8:00 am–8:00 pm while groups of 20 or more are in-house. Please stop by during these hours with any questions or concerns during your stay. Security will be present after hours.
 
A Message Center board is located next to the elevator in the main dining room. Please check this board for phone messages or deliveries during your stay. Your name will be posted to contact the front desk for pick-up if you receive a phone message or package.

If someone needs to reach you for an emergency they can call
(734) 414-1111 to leave a message with a front desk associate.
 
Meals
 
Meal times are as follows:
Breakfast ............. 8:00–9:00 am
Lunch ................ 12:00–1:00 pm
Dinner ................. 5:30–6:30 pm   6:00–7:00 pm (Friday only)
Please remove dishes and trays from tables after your meal and place them in dish cart. Please do not remove food or beverages from the dining room.
 
A coffee and tea station is available in the Living Bread Dining Room. This service is available throughout your stay.
 
No food is allowed to be brought in to The Retreat Center at St. John's without written approval from the Director. All non-approved food items will be disposed of by staff. Please inform your group of this requirement prior to your arrival.
 
Housekeeping
 
Housekeeping is limited. Linens and towels are not replaced daily
– please help yourself to fresh towels and paper products from the Hospitality Tables located in each wing on each floor. Used towels can be placed in the laundry chutes or laundry baskets (located on  hospitality table) – please do not leave wet towels on the floor in your sleeping room. Bed linens will be replaced upon request, for emergency situations only.
 
Housekeeping is not required at the end of your stay – you do not need to remove the bed linens.
 
Please place trash in trash containers located next to hospitality tables.
 
Washer/Dryer available – please bring your own detergent. See Front Desk for location.
 
Ironing Boards/Irons available in the following meditation room:
W265, W365, E223, E319
 
Check-in on the day of your arrival is 3:00 pm.
Check-out on the day of your departure is 10:00 am.
 
Sleeping Rooms
 
Each sleeping room has a shower, sink and toilet, but we do not provide hair dryers, bar soap or toiletries. There are plastic cups located in the medicine cabinet for your use in the bathroom. Limited toiletries items are available in the Gift Shop.
 
The procedure for operating the heat and air conditioning in your room is located on the wall by the thermostat.
 
The second light switch by the door turns on the lamp next to the bed. Some rooms contain fluorescent type bulbs and may take a few seconds to fully light.
 
The hot water takes a while to reach the rooms – let the water run for a few minutes.
 
Sleeping rooms do not include telephones or alarm clocks. Radios and/or TV's are not permitted. Cell phone reception may be limited in certain areas of the building.
 
Miscellaneous
 
You are welcome to walk the grounds and gardens. However, the golf course is off limits for general walking. A map of the gardens can be found at the Front Desk.
 
Public Restrooms are located near both dining rooms, outside meeting rooms on each level and outside the Activity Room.
 
The Retreat Center at St. John's is a smoke-free building. The smoking area is located outside of the main entrance at the Front Desk. A $200 cleaning fee will be imposed for smoking in a sleeping room.
 
When groups are in-house, the lobby doors are open from 6:00 am–10:00 pm on weekdays and until midnight on weekends. If you need to re-enter the building before or after these hours please use your sleeping room key in the door lock located in the vestibule area of the main entrance.
 
The Activity Room is available for your leisure use if not reserved by a group - please see a front desk associate for information.
 
Please respect other guests staying at The Retreat Center – keep noise levels to a minimum when traveling hallways and near meeting rooms. Quiet hours are 9:00 pm8:00 am.
 
The Business Center (located on the first level of the West Wing) is available with computer/internet access for guests to use at anytime during your stay.
 
Wireless Internet Access is available in the main level dining room, reception area and several meeting rooms.
 
There is a pay phone located on the first floor lobby East wing. Phone directories are available at the Front Desk.
 
Candles are not permitted in meeting rooms or sleeping room.
