Bob was ordained as a permanent Deacon in 2003.

Having retired as Research Professor Emeritus from U of M in Ann Arbor, he directs the first year of diaconal formation for the Archdiocese, is a Consultant to the Office of Evangelization and a leader in the charismatic Fellowship of St. Paul at Sacred Heart Major Seminary.

The parents of seven children, Deacon Bob and his wife Barbara have ministered in programs of marriage preparation and enrichment for 20 years.

Since 2004, Deacon Bob has taught Pope John Paul II’s Theology of the Body to parishes and other groups, exhorting married couples to live that communion of persons which the Pope called “the most perfect image in the entire world” of the communion that exists within God.
