Coughlin in 1925, just prior to the canonization of St. Therese of Lisieux. St. Therese was known as "The Little Flower". It is one of the first churches in the world and North America dedicated in her honor. Recent years have added many new dimensions to the life of the parish community. It is a vibrant parish with 4000+ registered families. The Shrine was designated a National Shrine by the National Conference of Bishops in 1998.
